About Me
My name is Mel and I’m a serial hustler with a passion for the arts. I grew up in Montreal, Canada and spent my childhood singing in the choir, competing on cheer teams, playing the alto sax, and performing in school plays.
After high school, I completed a 3 year Professional Theatre Degree, and then decided to embark on a solo adventure to Australia for a few month.
Fast forward ten years, and I was judging around the globe, teaching & certifying coaches, choreographing for TV and professional sports teams, managing and head coaching at the largest cheer facility in Sydney, handling the logistics of major events, and all the other myriad tasks of running a small to medium business.
Things change, and I experienced a massive upheaval in my personal life which led to leaving the industry I’d been involved in since I became a teenager. I found myself in limbo for almost 2 years.
It took a long conversation with a very dear (and patient) friend to realize that my passion in life has always been coaching. It's as natural to me as breathing, and when I no longer had athletes to work with I focused on the people around me. I found myself speaking with photographers, event producers, artists, and musicians filled with passion and the desire to entrepreneurs and bombarding them with tips and advice on how to get started. What I realized after a while was that all of these talented people seemed to have the same three basic issues.
- Lack of confidence (no one is going to PAY for what I do)
- Business experience (I don’t know HOW to run a business)
- Focus (I want to CREATE art not keep on top of admin work)
If you're reading this, and recognize yourself, then maybe I can help you.
My talent lies in figuring out what creatives are good at, a way to make money from it, and how to make it all happen. If you'd like to have an honest and objective chat with someone who is keen to learn more about what you want to do then please get in touch here. I'd love to hear from you!
